ABOUT

Boghopper Races Ltd

Boghopper Races is a result of the run chat of Janice Coglin-Hibbert and Kevin Burgess. As ultrarunners and triathletes ourselves we wanted to introduce more people to the joys of ultrarunning and especially Norfolk's amazing trails.

New Ultramarathons

October 2023 saw the launch of two brand new ultramarathons, showcasing the beautiful Norfolk countryside and the estates of Blickling and Felbrigg Hall. Back in 2024 and again in 2025.

A beginner friendly 50km and a more challenging 50 mile route for the more experienced, both taking place on the Weavers' Way. These were the first two races that we launched and from there we have grown. We now have a healthy portfolio of races but still keeping the Beginner Friendly ethos at heart.

What makes us Beginner Friendly?

Our 50km races will always have a 10 hour completion time and generous interim cut offs. An average speed of 5km (3 mph) will get you to the finish in time.

Our 50 mile races will have a 15 hour completion time and generous interim cut offs, means an average speed of 3mph will get you to the finish.

Spectators can meet athletes at selected crew points and provide supplies, food, drink and importantly, moral support.

Our focus is on encouraging more people to fall in love with the sport of long distance trail running without feeling daunted while still enabling those at the front of the field to race hard also.

Our routes will be very raceable allowing for good competition for the more competitive among you and will also be spectator friendly allowing you to see your own crew 3 or more times on the route.

The whole ethos of our team is on helping you to achieve your goal. We are runners ourselves and understand first hand how hard these races can be. We will do everything we can to help you get across the finish line safely (apart from running it for you)
